Edward J. Feinstein (Of Counsel)
Ed Feinstein is a founding Partner of Feinstein Doyle Payne & Kravec, LLC. He has represented students and parents in education cases; and employees and retirees in class action lawsuits to protect pension funds and health care benefits against major corporations in the automotive, rail car, mining, and other industries.
After graduating from Boston College Law School, Ed spent more than ten years in the public interest arena, practicing with legal services programs in Connecticut and Pittsburgh, where he successfully litigated class action cases to stop cuts to medical assistance and welfare benefits and to reform prisons and other public institutions. In private practice, Ed has co-counseled educational desegregation cases with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights in South Carolina and Western Pennsylvania. Ed regularly lectures at conferences on various aspects of special education law.
Ed is admitted in the state courts of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as in numerous federal district and circuit courts.
Ed previously served on the Board of the Achieva Family Trust, which serves as trustee of several kinds of trusts benefiting individuals with disabilities. He also served as Chair of the Board of Community Endeavors, a system of community based group homes for individuals with disabilities. Ed is an active member of the National Employment Lawyer’s Association and commutes most days by bicycle. He enjoys the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and Pitt Basketball.
