Ahmad H. Malik brings a deep commitment to public-interest advocacy and a rich foundation in federal court litigation to his work representing plaintiffs in complex class actions. His practice is shaped by years of experience clerking for federal judges and managing high-stakes litigation at an international law firm.
Ahmad began his legal career clerking for federal judges at both the trial and appellate levels—first with Judge D. Michael Fisher on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; then as a rotating clerk to multiple judges in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; and ultimately as a term clerk to Magistrate Judge Patricia Dodge and District Judge Cathy Bissoon. During his six years of federal clerkship experience, Ahmad handled a wide range of civil and criminal matters, gaining an inside perspective on judicial reasoning, litigation strategy, and effective legal writing.
Before joining FDPK, Ahmad worked as an IP litigation associate at an international law firm based in Washington, D.C., where he litigated high-stakes patent disputes involving cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated corporate clients. That experience sharpened his trial-readiness and deepened his litigation skills—but it was his desire to return to Pittsburgh and pursue work with real impact that led him to join FDPK.
Ahmad’s personal story also fuels his advocacy. The son of immigrants who fled religious persecution in Pakistan, he understands the law not just as a tool for resolving disputes—but as a vehicle for protecting the vulnerable and advancing equity. He brings this purpose-driven mindset to each case he handles.
Ahmad earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
